Aimee Kroll-Desrosiers, PhD, MS is a health services researcher and epidemiologist whose work focuses on improving mental health care access and quality during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She is a Staff Scientist with the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Policy in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Dr. Kroll-Desrosiers uses mixed-methods research to examine how women navigate mental health care during the perinatal period, with particular attention to postpartum care engagement, perinatal depression screening and treatment, chronic pain management, medication use during pregnancy, and provider perspectives on delivering behavioral health care within complex systems. Her work highlights barriers to care, transitions across health systems, and opportunities to improve continuity and patient-centered care.
Dr. Kroll-Desrosiers is a trained implementation scientist and former Institute for Implementation Science Scholar. Her work at the Veterans Health Administration, supported by a Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 1 Career Development Award, examined perinatal depression care pathways within the VA. She brings a systems-level perspective to understanding how clinicians and organizations can better structure and deliver mental health care for birthing persons and their families.
